Holiday 23 Class Owners Association

The Holiday 23 Association meets about once a quarter (the monthly and bi-monthly meeting frequencies of the past have not been well supported) for a light dinner and an informative talk. In future we will try to co-ordinate these meetings with sailing events.

Occasionally we arrange interesting and useful activities for the members - who include both H23 owners and non-H23 owning associate members.

One of the recent successes was the “Vaalie skippers” expedition to Sunsail in Durban in 2005 to complete the Day Skippers course.

The association is the “owner” of the Holiday 23 Class Rules and the original boat moulds which have been donated by Holiday Yachts (Pty) Ltd. We also have a nice collection of original H23 brochures from John Robertson Yachts (the source of most of the pictures used in the website) and an extensive history of most boats ever built – both lifting keel and fixed keel, or "Weekender" versions.

The association is governed by a constitution and a small committee that is elected annually at the AGM. The committee consists of a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer and public relations officer. They meet once a month to monitor financials, progress on initiatives and anything else affecting the running of the association.
